The question of the school podcast series is, “Is the Roman Catholic Church a Cult? How would you know? Jesus, then Messiah and the Son of God is the one who gives us the answer to that question. If you want to know what something truly is, you don’t judge it by what it claims to be. You judge it by the fruit it bears in comparison to what it claims. As Jesus said, “You will recognize them by their fruit.” (Matthew 7:15-20). When we inspect the fruit of the Roman Catholic Church, it will give us our answer. If it produces more of the fruits of a dangerous religious cult, then it’s a cult. If it produces more fruits of the legitimate church following Jesus Christ, then it is a church.
